Supporting Organizations
The
City of Laramie has agreed to lead the effort and serve in the important role of host city for Wyoming Smart Capital Network. This means Laramie will provide administration and oversight functions to ensure that WSCN serves as a resource to the benefit of all communities in the state of Wyoming.
Laramie Economic Development Corporation is a non-profit organization that was established in 1985 to provide local economic development programs and initiatives. LEDC not only works to attract and retain new businesses, it also facilitates the expansion and development of existing businesses in order to achieve sustainable growth and improve the economic well-being of Laramie and Albany County citizens. LEDC works closely with the city, county, and state government, the Laramie Area Chamber of Commerce, Wyoming Technology Business Center, the University of Wyoming, and numerous other business resources to identify funding sources and create primary jobs.
The mission of the
Wyoming Business Council is to: facilitate the growth of Wyoming's economy, help retain and expand existing Wyoming businesses and industries; recruit and target businesses and their support businesses to the state; and work with communities to develop infrastructure to become business ready. The WBC is structure resembles that of a corporation with a CEO and board of directors.
Wyoming Entrepreneur is a network of three programs at the University of Wyoming, with offices throughout the state. The programs include the Small Business Development Center (SBDC), Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) and Market Research Center (MRC). Wyoming Entrepreneur consists of a partnership between the University of Wyoming, the Wyoming Business Council and the U.S. Small Business Administration.
